Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, also known as "Nagon ki bhoomi" (Land of Snakes), has a rich but lesser-known history. The town was previously known as Hettary Nagar and was rebuilt after two earlier towns, Donga Nagar and Udho Nagar, were flooded. The people of Bhaderwah resettled in Seeri Bazar and reconstructed their homes. The town has a history of bravery, with General Shagtu Kotwal fighting against the Chamba Raja's forces and later joining Maharaja Gulab Singh's J&K State. Today, Bhaderwah is a picturesque town in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, known for its chilling climate, beautiful landscape, and trekking opportunities. The town has a complex history, with evidence of floods, battles, and bravery, making it a fascinating destination for visitors. Its natural beauty and adventurous activities make Bhaderwah a worth-visiting place.
