Gharana Wetland, RS Pura

Located approximately 3.5 kilometers from RS Pura, Gharana Wetland is a hidden gem with immense potential to attract tourists. This low-lying wetland area, spanning around 1.5 square kilometers, is home to a diverse range of migratory bird species from Siberia and other countries. Every year, between November and April, bird enthusiasts and ornithologists flock to this haven to witness the nesting of various bird species.
During these months, the serene atmosphere of the village is filled with the melodious chirping of birds, creating a symphony of sounds that is a treat for the ears. The wetland, situated close to the Indo-Pak Border (approximately 20 kilometers from Jammu), has been designated as a protected water body and declared an Important Bird Area (IBA). This recognition highlights the significance of Gharana Wetland as a vital habitat for various bird species, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and bird enthusiasts."
