Lal Draman

Lal Draman

Located 20 km north-west of Doda Town, amidst towering deodar and fir trees, Lal Draman is a stunning saucer-shaped meadow that ranks among the best tourist spots in Doda district. Translating to 'Red Meadows' in English, this breathtaking destination offers a diverse range of landscapes, a soothing and pleasant summer climate, and snow-covered winters.
Lal Draman holds a special place in the heart of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah, who frequently visited this enchanting spot. The meadow is also a symbol of unity, featuring a beautiful mosque and temple standing side by side. The locals are renowned for their warm hospitality, making visitors feel at home.
In recent years, Lal Draman has become a popular destination for picnics, camping, and winter sports like skiing, thanks to its abundant snowfall of approximately 6-8 feet in winters. The surrounding area boasts numerous other lush green meadows, comparable to Sonamarg or Gulmarg in Kashmir, including Makhan Baggi, Allah Kanda, Chandrain, Kilmil Gurmal Galla, Basam Galla, Dal Draman, Loni Draman, Chapnari, Saiba Wali Marg, Choundi Sira, Elali Shiva, Udyanpur, and Bharath, making it a perfect tourist haven."
