Wular Lake

Located on the foothills of the majestic Haramuk Mountain, Wular Lake is the second-largest freshwater lake in Asia, spanning an impressive 200 square kilometers. This natural wonder stretches 24 kilometers in length and 10 kilometers in breadth, nestled between the towns of Sopur and Bandippore, in Sangrama, near Baramula Road.
The lake's primary water source is the River Jhelum, which feeds its crystal-clear waters. A small, picturesque island called Zaina Lank, built by King Zainul-Abi-Din, lies at the lake's center. According to legend, Wular Lake is a remnant of the ancient Satisar Lake. Today, the lake's premises offer a popular sunset point, attracting visitors seeking breathtaking views and serenity.
