Doodhpathri

Doodhpathri, meaning "Valley of Milk," is a picturesque hill station in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. Located 42 km from Srinagar and 22 km from Budgam, it sits at an altitude of 8,957 ft. The name originates from a legend about Sheikh Noor din Noorani, who struck the ground with his stick, causing milk to flow, which then turned into water. The valley's water has a milky appearance and remains cold throughout the year. Doodhpathri boasts lush green meadows, multicolored flowers, and silver streams running over large stones. It lies in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, an alpine valley covered with snow-clad mountains and Pine, Fir, and Deodar trees. The natural meadows, snow-covered in winter, bloom with wildflowers like daisies, forget-me-nots, and buttercups in spring and summer, making it a stunning tourist destination.
