Pensi La Pass

Pensi La Pass, located 25 km from Rangdum Monastery, is a high-altitude mountain pass in Ladakh. The pass is traversed by a metaled road, but heavy snowfall and landslides can make it dangerous and prone to blockages. The road connects the Suru Valley to the Zanskar Valley and requires careful preparation for a safe and enjoyable journey. The pass is also the source of the Stod/Doda River, which flows into the Padum Valley and joins the Tsarap Chu to form the Zanskar River. Accurate planning is essential for navigating this challenging yet scenic route.
