Pir Panjal range

The Pir Panjal Range is a majestic mountain range located in the Lower Himalayan region of the Western Himalayas, stretching across the northern Indian subcontinent. It runs southeast to northwest, sandwiched between the Beas and Neelam/Kishanganga rivers, in the Indian states of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, with its northwestern edge extending into Pak occupied Jammu Kashmir.
As part of the Lesser Himalayas, the Pir Panjal Range is the largest and westernmost range, showcasing a gradual elevation towards the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges. Near the Sutlej River, it diverges from the main Himalayan range, forming a divide between the Beas and Ravi rivers on one side and the Chenab on the other.
Further west, the Pir Panjal Range forms the southwestern boundary of the Kashmir Valley, separating it from the Jammu hills and creating a divide between the Jhelum and Chenab rivers. This remarkable range is a testament to the region's unique geography and natural beauty."
