7 Lakes in Poonch and Nearby Areas

1. Nandan Sar: Largest and most famous lake, 1 km long, oval-shaped, and blue.
2. Katoria Sar: Beautiful lake, 2 hours north of Nandan Sar, with snow and icebergs till June-July.
3. Chandan Sar: Sacred lake for nomads, equal in size to Nandan Sar, located half an hour's walk from Nandan Sar.
4. Kaldichni Sar: Blackish-colored lake, oval-shaped, located an hour's walk east of Nandan Sar.
5. Sukh Sar: Medium-sized lake, located northeast of Kaldichni Sar.
6. Neel Sar: Crystal-clear blue lake, located southeast of Sukh Sar.
7. Handu Sar: Round-shaped lake, smaller in size, located two hours' walk northeast of Neel Sar.

Additional Lakes

- Gum Sar: Oval-shaped lake near Nandan Sar, accessible by crossing Nandan Pass.
- Rawiwali Marg group: Four lakes - Kokar Sar, Neel Sar, Bhag Sar, and Ding Sar - above 33,000 ft altitude.
- Jang Wali Sar and Kagalna Sar: Lakes located northwest of Shakar Marg.
- SmatSar (Richh Bagla Sar): Famous lake for excursions, 4-6 hours north of Budhal town.
- Other lakes: Kala Sar, Chammar Sar, and others, smaller and less accessible.
