Gupt Ganga Temple, Baderwah

Gupt Ganga Temple, Baderwah

Gupt Ganga, a mysterious cave in Bhaderwah, holds a special place in history and mythology. According to legend, the Pandavas spent a few days here during their Agyatvas, seeking refuge in the land of the Nagas. A large foot imprint on the temple's rock is attributed to Bhim, one of the Pandava brothers.
The cave is also said to have been connected to Srinagar through a secret tunnel, adding to its enigmatic charm. Today, the surrounding area is a protected zone, with fishing prohibited in the 2-kilometer stretch of the River Neeru. This sacred site continues to fascinate visitors with its rich history, mythological significance, and natural beauty.
