Gurdwara Pathar Sahib, located 25 miles from Leh, commemorates Guru Nanak's visit to Ladakh in 1517. The gurdwara was built to mark the spot where Guru Nanak rested and meditated, and a boulder with his imprint is displayed. According to legend, a demon tried to kill Guru Nanak by pushing the boulder down the hill, but it softened and stopped at his back. The demon's footprint is also visible in the stone. The demon was forgiven and reformed after meeting Guru Nanak. The gurdwara is revered by both Sikhs and local Lamas and is currently maintained by the Army. Visitors can see the boulder with Guru Nanak's imprint and the demon's footprint, and enjoy the serene surroundings. The gurdwara is a significant pilgrimage site and a testament to Guru Nanak's spiritual power and message of peace and forgiveness.
