The temple is dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi in the form of a "pindi."
- It is believed to be good to visit this temple before starting the journey for Mata Vaishno Devi's shrine.
- The temple is also known as the first glimpse of Kol Kandoli of Mata Vaishno Devi.
- Kol Kandoli derives its name from two words, "Kaul" and "Kandoli," with "Kol" meaning bowl and "Kandoli" meaning marbles.
- The temple is believed to be over 4,000 years old.
- The main attraction of the temple is a majestic devotional flame that has been kept alive for centuries.
- The worship method in Kol Kandoli Temple is typical of Jammu and Kashmir.
- On entering the temple, devotees remove their footwear and carry a devotional offering, usually incense or flowers, as a sign of reverence to the goddess.
- It is customary to offer prayers with folded hands and to bow three times, touching the ground with the forehead.
- After the prayer, devotees take a round of the temple and offer "dakshina" (monetary offerings) in a "thali" (plate) placed inside the sanctum.
