Ram Kund Mandir

Ram Kund Mandir

Located approximately 68 kilometers from Poonch and 11 kilometers from Mendhar, Ram Kund Temple is a revered pilgrimage site. The term "Kund" means "pond of water." According to legend, Lord Ram, along with his family, halted at Ram Kund during their exile while en route to Kashmir and personally constructed this temple and three natural water springs - Ram Kund, LaxmanKund, and SitaKund - for bathing.
The temple was renovated by King Lalitaditya of Kashmir in the 7th century AD. A grand fair is held annually in April (Chaitra) on Chaitra Choudh, attracting thousands of devotees who offer prayers after bathing in these sacred Kunds. This temple is a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of the region."
