Ranbireshwar Temple, Shalamar

Ranbireshwar Temple, Shalamar

Named after its founder, Maharaja Ranbir Singh, the Shri Ranbireshwar Temple is a magnificent structure that showcases the devotion of its builder. Construction began in 1863 AD and was completed in 1878 AD, resulting in the largest Shiva temple in North India. The temple's centerpiece is a massive seven-and-a-half-foot-tall sphatic shivlingam, surrounded by ten two-foot-high crystal lingas and galleries adorned with an astonishing 1,25,000 tiny Shivlings brought from the Narmada River.
Located on Shalamar Road, just a kilometer from Raghunath Bazaar, this temple is a must-visit destination for spiritual seekers and architecture enthusiasts alike."
