Abhinav Gupt cave (Beerwah)

Located in the foothills of the Bairam hillocks in the Beerwah area of Budgam district, the AbhinavGupt cave holds immense religious significance for Kashmiri Pandits. AbhinavGupt, revered as the greatest scholar of Kashmiri Shaivism, an ancient school of thought renowned worldwide, is deeply associated with this site. Until 1947 AD, Kashmiri Pandits would annually visit the cave’s entrance on the 10th day of the full moon in June to perform sacred rituals. This heritage site is a vital part of ancient historical civilization and has recently reopened, reviving a long-standing tradition.
