Bimal Nag

Bimal Nag

Vimal Nag, locally revered as Bimal Nag, is an embodiment of Lord Vishnu. The captivating idol of Lord Vishnu, seated on Sheshnag, holds a Shankh in one hand and a Chakra in the other, crafted from rare black stone, has been a source of devotion for centuries. The Vimal Nag temple stands majestically in the heart of a lush green meadow, surrounded by towering Deodar trees, creating a serene ambiance. A natural spring flows beneath the idol, forming a small pond in front of the temple, adding to the premises' eye-catching beauty.
Devotees and nature enthusiasts flock to this sacred site throughout the year, but the annual Vimal Nag Yatra, originating from Neel KanthMahadev Temple in Kishtwar, has gained popularity over the past few years. The unique aspect of this yatra is the worship of serpents and springs, associated with Lord Shiva and Vishnu, which takes place on Naag-Panchmi. The cleansing of springs and lakes, a characteristic of Nag culture, not only symbolizes purification but also contributes to a pollution-free environment, deeply ingrained in Indian psyche. Pilgrims consider it auspicious to participate in the cleansing rituals, making Vimal Nag a revered destination for spiritual seekers and nature lovers alike.
